LBC books just released their newest title:
Here is a synopsis for the book:
"Renzo Novatore is the pen-name of Abele Rizieri Ferrari who was born in
Arcola, Italy (a village of La Spezia) on May 12, 1890 to a poor peasant
family. Unwilling to adapt to scholastic discipline, he only attended a
few months of the first grade of grammar school and then left school
forever. Though his father forced him to work on the farm, his strong
will and thirst for knowledge led him to become a self-taught poet and
philosopher. Exploring these matters outside the limits imposed by the
educational system, as a youth he read Stirner, Nietzsche, Wilde, Ibsen,
Baudelaire, Schopenauer, and many others with a critical mind.
Renzo died on November 22 (1922), at the hands of the cops.
We are very excited to present this collection of all of the known
writings of Renzo Novatore, newly translated by Wolfi Landstreicher. It
contains the fiery polemics, poetry, and willful play that readers of
"Toward the Creative Nothing" are already familiar with. For those new
to the writings of Renzo prepare for an emotional cavalcade of egoism,
nihilism, and hatred for democratic mediocrity. To life!"
To celebrate we are planning on producing a few "commercials" for books. One of the first, given his exciting life, will be for the book Novatore.
The idea for these book commercials will be to be a fun romp with the ideas presented and get people excited about LBC books. We are wrapping up some of the script writing and will begin filming soon
Other than that, the work has been binding books for upcoming bookfairs in oakland, humbolt and boston. Much Fun!

Document All The Things
When you're doing a project, its hard to remember to write things down. You're too busy actually doing the things.
And so that's (one) of my tasks for the LBC crew, writing down how to do everything to create some consistency and flow when introducing new people to the project
This will mostly involve getting trained in all the processes and taking good notes, then putting those notes into a wiki for all to see.
Good Times. Will write with updates.

First Day: Binding and Cutting
My first day at LBC books consisted of binding books and cutting books. The operation at LBC books is small, the intention is to create books "on demand" with small print runs. This enables books to exist that would normally not see the light of day due to overbearing costs of printing.
This involves that people actually have to print, bind and cut books for them to be ready for eager hands. After i was trained on the binding and cutting of books, i was left to bind copies of Crime Thought and cut copies of Anarchy 101
Here is a video of the book chopping.
Here is a photo of the chopper and some photos of the binder.
Most of the work by LBC is doing the bookwork, but there is space to work on more creative aspects, for example, the idea of commercials for books came up as well. The project is unique LBC is a small operation that seeks to make a big splash in the printing of anarchist and anti-political literature. I hope i can help them throughout my internship.
